I am an individual therapist specializing in attachment oriented depth therapy, with emphasis on the neurobiology of attachment. I have extensive experience and education working with individuals from the LGBTQ community, with specific training working with trans* individuals. I also specialize in working with nonconventional relationship structures including varying forms of Consensual Nonmonogamy. I am kink aware/knowledgable. I have experience working with individuals navigating opening up a monogamous relationship, poly/mono configurations, and kink/vanilla configurations. I take a non-pathologizing approach to all consensual sexual variations. I have extensive training in the impact of varying religious backgrounds on sexual acceptance and expression, including impact of family relationships when there are differing value systems pertaining to sexual expression and identity. Part of my education included in depth study of theology and religious, and thus I am familiar with and aware of the manner in which different belief structures impact perceptions of relationship, gender roles, and sexuality.
I also have extensive experience working with survivors of trauma, with emphasis on how early trauma effects attachment patterns. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). While I have specialized training working with nontraditional relationship structures, I also approach an individual’s needs as an interplay of multiple causal factors, not assuming that emotional struggles are in a cause/effect interplay with an individual’s personal sexual and relationship desires.
